Unique is the meaning of her name and exactly what exemplifies her character.  26- year-old Nykarra Powell of Barnes Hill, a very determined young lady and is one who is always aspiring to achieve her best.

Her determination is fruitful with success as she has earned a Business Diploma with Honours at Herzing College while maintaining a GPA of 3.65.  It was her greatest pleasure to work within the Human Resource Department at Herzing providing supplementary language and communication assistance to students in need.  Interacting with so many different people tremendously enhanced her interpersonal skills. Thus, her outstanding work within the department earned her a Campus President’s Award an outstanding achievement which also presented her with a feature in the Herzing Harold (college magazine).  Planning and organizing is a very enjoyable asset to her, so she would not have chosen any other career path for she is adamant there is where her future lies.   

On other avenues, she has a very artistic skill which she was able to indulge in while growing up making costumes in the mas camp with Ali & Associates.  Music! Music! Music! Often leaves her speechless from the joy and solace it brings to her soul.  Now, all this classed with her passion for cooking you can with ease refer to her as Miss. Versatile.  Nykara, gets so much pleasure from cooking that the tasty results of a meal remind her of her aptness in this world which is much needed as Darwin the scientist said, “Survival of the fittest” and with her skills survive she will.  

“When one door closes, I open another.”  This belief she applies to all endeavors, particularly those directed towards helping and enabling children’s progression.  This summer, she became a co-founder of Exceeding Expectations, a vocational camp geared towards helping children find, reach and exceed their expected potential.  She hopes to expand on the goals of the summer camp by opening a pre-school in the near future.   

Nykara is a former employee of the Stanford International Bank…  In light of everything she believes that wherever we are in life is where we are supposed to be.  It may not be what we want, but there is a beneficial lesson to be learnt in every situation.  Just take the time to look around, realize and be thankful.
